The "Food Point Food Products and Technologies Fair," organized by BTSO (Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and KFA Fuarcılık, welcomed more than 250 qualified buyers from 39 countries, bringing them together with representatives from Bursa's food sector. The three-day event, held at the Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center, hosted hundreds of business meetings and opened the doors to millions of dollars in business connections.
BTSO, the umbrella organization of Bursa's business community, continues to support export-oriented growth in various sectors through new-generation trade fairs. The Food Point Food Products and Technologies Fair, organized under BTSO’s leadership and KFA Fuarcılık, took place at Merinos AKKM. The fair, which featured companies from different groups of the food sector as well as brands producing food technologies, contributed to expanding the sector into new markets and strengthening companies’ export capabilities. This year, in addition to qualified foreign buyers, purchasing teams from domestic retail chains also attended the event.
"The Fair Increases Our Exports and Promotes Bursa"
Burhan Sayılgan, Chairman of the BTSO Food and Packaged Products Council, emphasized their goal of strengthening Bursa's production and export potential in the food and agriculture sectors. He noted that the Food Point Food Products and Technologies Fair provided a platform for industry professionals to meet, establish new business connections, foster collaborations, and follow the latest sector trends. "Over three days, we hosted more than 250 qualified buyers from different parts of the world. The buyers selected based on the requests and expectations of our companies held productive meetings with our firms. While we aim to increase exports, we also aim to promote Bursa and its producers. In this sense, I can say that the fair was highly beneficial. We hope to make this fair one of Türkiye’s and the region’s strongest platforms in the coming years. I would like to thank our BTSO Board Chairman Mr. İbrahim Burkay and all sector representatives who supported our fair," he said.
"Visitors Were Carefully Selected"
Zafer Özgün, a representative from Balık Dünyası, a frozen seafood company, shared that the fair greatly contributed to their export efforts. "We received many positive inquiries throughout the three days. We held meetings with businesspeople from countries such as Tunisia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the UK, and Moldova. This made us very happy. We hope to find opportunities for successful collaborations. Efficiency is very important in such fairs, and I believe every visitor here was carefully selected. This ensured the fair was more productive," Özgün stated.
"We Held Meetings with Firms from Oman and Romania"
Mustafa Doğan, a representative of Peklez, a company involved in various industries, including food, pointed out that both domestic and international buyers were pleased with the companies' interest. "We had meetings with many firms and expect the organization to continue growing. Our slogan is clear: 'If Bursa grows, Türkiye grows.' We aim to gain new customers from this fair. We had very productive meetings with companies from Oman and Romania. Our goal is to grow healthily with new customers. The firms that came here were carefully selected. I thank everyone who contributed to the organization," Doğan said.
"The Fair Was Organized Professionally"
Abdullah Erbey, a Board Member of Altıncezve Gıda, expressed that the fair greatly benefited their export growth. "We held meetings with companies from the Middle East and Europe. After the fair, we need to continue these discussions. We must produce added value in our country and increase our exports. We are a company working toward this goal. There has been a tremendous effort behind the scenes, with a great team working together. I believe the fair has reached a very professional level," Erbey stated.
250 Foreign Buyers from 39 Countries Attended
This year, the Food Point Food Products and Technologies Fair welcomed foreign buyers from 39 countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the UK, and Jordan. The fair has provided significant opportunities to purchase products directly. We’ve had the chance to meet many companies, and I believe we will return to Azerbaijan with great results and new partnerships. We look forward to attending future fairs with large delegations from our country."
Dushyant Sahni, representing Hamdard Foods, a company based in India and active since 1906, shared that they are involved in the production and trade of saffron and spices.
