The story of Makam's journey on the way to become a producer of traditional flavors originates from a complaint by a Spanish tourist who, after visiting Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul, expressed disappointment at the lack of a special beverage unique to this culture that built such a magnificent palace. Inspired by this encounter, the founder of the company, Ömer Kaya, conducted research and revived forgotten flavors under the brands "MAKAM" and "Şerbetçi İbrahim Arif".

Produced with inspiration from the beverage culture used in rich palace kitchens dating back approximately 500 years, Makam-branded beverages are crafted from the miraculous fruits, plant roots, and seeds of Anatolia. They undergo no purification process or chemical treatment, preserving their natural structure. Through pasteurization without altering their natural composition, these beverages are stored in healthy glass bottles, offering consumers a tasteful and appealing form while maintaining their most beneficial aspects.
 
Categorized as Makam Gold, sweetened with apple juice instead of sugar, and Makam White, sweetened with beet sugar, the products are developed without additives such as aspartame, glucose syrup, corn syrup, artificial flavors, coloring agents, or chemical preservatives. As a natural and healthy product line, the company has also introduced the "Plantae" brand, a representative of contemporary tastes next to the traditional ones.
