The founder of the company, the late Ali Şakir Tatveren, who introduced the unique taste of chestnut candy known as the palate of the Mediterranean and European countries to Bursa, presented his knowledge and experience in confectionery for the first time to the people of this city.
Born in Manastır, Yugoslavia, Ali Şakir Tatveren learned the confectionery and pastry profession alongside his father. After practicing the family profession for a while in Kars Sarıkamış and the Kafkasya (Caucasus), he established the Kafkas Collective Company in 1930. Following the passing of Ali Şakir Tatveren in 1957, his wife Nedret Tatveren and children Alparslan, Atilla, and Yüksel Tatveren took over the management of the company. Taking over the responsibilities from their father, Atilla and Yüksel Tatveren made significant strides in chestnut candy and other products for many years.
Becoming a sought-after name in the making of pastries and confectionery, Caucasus renewed its technological infrastructure in the 1970s to meet the increasing demand. In the 1980s, they expanded the variety of chestnut candy and granted franchises outside Bursa. During this process, as Caucasus steadily progressed towards branding, the company structure was transformed into a joint-stock company in 1995. Starting small within the family, the precision and the production of quality products in the confectionery business enabled Caucasus to become a well-known brand in chestnut candy production today. The secret of the taste, passed down from generation to generation within the family, and brought a new interpretation to chestnut candy. Production, which was initially carried out through traditional methods, gradually evolved into industrial-scale. With its modern facilities, Caucasus gained the trust of its customers by ensuring the hygiene and quality standards of its products.
Today, Caucasus continues its production in its modern facilities with 6,500 square meters of closed and 12,500 square meters of open space, following ISO 9001/2000 and ISO 22000 standards. In the two production facilities in Bursa operated by expert teams, the company produces a variety of products, including chestnut candy, chocolate-covered chestnut candies, chestnut purees, jams, marmalades, various confectioneries, brittle, and ice cream. With the newly established lines in the facility, various cookie and pastry productions are also carried out.
